About LILYβS
From the very beginning, Lilyβs has been a family business, established in 1972 by husband and wife Mr PG Sachdev and Mrs Lilawati Sachdev. PG lovingly called his wife Lily, and we couldnβt ask for a better name for our restaurant. Unfortunately, Lily passed away before the restaurant opened, so we named our authentic Indian vegetarian restaurant in her memory to continue her loving legacy for us all.
Our journey started on Cotton Street East, AshtonβUnderβLyne, 1972, where Mr and Mrs Sachdev sold hand-made Indian treats from their small shop.
As you might expect, these hand-made Indian treats sold like hotcakes, and other family members began to help with the business, starting with their sons Harish and Rajesh.
Everyone worked as a team, and all the items in the shop were freshly hand-made to authentic Indian recipes. As a result, the business prospered, growing bigger and stronger.
Then we opened our restaurant dedicated to serving delicious, authentic Indian food, and sharing our passion for great food.
The Lilyβs team is like our family; we share our enthusiasm, passion, and love of food with all our staff, and they work hard to ensure each and every customer leaves happy and satisfied.
Our experienced team of chefs have been handpicked from North India, South India, Rajastan and many other regions, bringing unique skills and knowledge to our kitchen.
Their in-depth knowledge of authentic Indian recipes helps us to provide a wide variety of delicious recipes, all made to authentic recipes and inspired by tradition.
Every dish is freshly made, so you can enjoy the delicious taste of authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine as if you were actually visiting India!
